Microsoft Edge Internal URLs reference

5/5 - (2 votes)

Microsoft Edge has a bunch of interesting internal URLs. How many, you ask?

Tons.

The URLs are basically broken into two sections: safe URLs and unsafe URLs. Safe URLs will show you interesting information (mostly diagnostic data) about your browser. Unsafe URLs, however, may crash your browser (some of them are even designed to do just that).

Here’s what they all are (and what they all do).

Safe URLs

These are the normal, safe-to-use (though can also be super-uninteresting) internal Edge URLs, showing everything from the list of internal URLs –both well-known and obscure–as well as links to configuration pages.

Unsafe / Debug Crash Page URLs

Not linked anywhere in the UI on purpose — each one deliberately crashes, hangs, or corrupts something for QA/debugging. Save your work before trying any of these; they close the tab or the whole browser process.

URL Effect
edge://crash/ Forces an immediate renderer crash.
edge://crash/rust Forces a crash inside a Rust-based component.
edge://crash/cfg Triggers a Control Flow Guard violation crash.
edge://crashdump/ Generates a crash dump without fully closing the browser.
edge://crashintegrity/ Triggers a crash tied to an integrity/verification check.
edge://kill/ Kills the current renderer process outright.
edge://hang/ Hangs the renderer indefinitely.
edge://shorthang/ Hangs the renderer briefly, then recovers.
edge://gpuclean/ Cleanly terminates the GPU process.
edge://gpucrash/ Forces the GPU process to crash.
edge://gpuhang/ Hangs the GPU process.
edge://badcastcrash/ Triggers a crash in the media casting code path.
edge://memory-exhaust/ Deliberately exhausts available memory.
edge://memory-pressure-critical/ Simulates a critical memory-pressure signal.
edge://memory-pressure-moderate/ Simulates a moderate memory-pressure signal.
edge://inducebrowsercrashforrealz/ Forces a full browser-process crash.
edge://inducebrowserdcheckforrealz/ Triggers a DCHECK (debug assertion) failure crash.

edge://heapcorruptioncrash/ Crashes via simulated heap corruption.
